Camina por Bandera

Oh lovely lovely is Orange and Blue.

Two streets away from my road if one of the longest vintage shop streets in Santiago- Bandera. Many of these shops are of course creme de la creme-full of dodgy, though there is one that just keeps on-a-givin'.

Oh my!
It's Orange and Blue.

A few weeks ago i made these few purchases (not all at the same time) and thought the world should know.

NEWS OF THE WEEK.

McDonalds serves up McWeddings.
'I McDO'

On Valentine's Day at a downtown McDonald's close to the financial district, the fast food joint was decked out with pink balloons, a "cake" stacked from apple pies, as well as a pair of tiny souvenir crystal M rings, for a surprise engagement bash thrown by Kelvin, a young model, for his girlfriend, Ashley.

The party is the first formal wedding event since the service was launched in January.

McDonald's says the concept isn't tacky and fills a niche in Hong Kong, where its restaurants are popular dating venues and the prices for more typical weddings run high.

"They date here, they grew their love here, so when they have this important day they want to come over here," said Shirley Chang, the managing director of Hong Kong's McDonald's outlets.

The McDonald's "Warm and sweet wedding package," at HK$9999 ($1282) a pop, includes wedding gifts, pink invitation cards emblazoned with golden arches, decor featuring the likes of Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar, and classic golden arches fare worth up to $385.

Additional items will cost extra, including a "white balloon" gown rental ($165), balloon corsage ($11), balloon wedding cake ($88), and a large pink McDonalds backdrop ($321).

Fan del Flan.

I love frittata's.
Here they do not have frittata's.
They have 'flan'.
It's the same but better.
Why? ...i wondered as i munched on my flan with salad at lunch time.
The answer: Because there's gluten in it. Obviously.

Farewell Flanny.
It's just not gunna work out.

Oscar, i think so.

On Friday Philly had the wonderful treat of getting to watch the wonders of Christina Aguilera strutting about on the big screen with me.
After having received raving reviews from Laura and Jules, i was desperate to see it.

The first line i think is a clear indicator for the rest of the film;

"(sigh) uh...i just gotta geta outta this town"

...I was in hysterics from then onwards.

Never before has shoddy acting been put together with nudity and sequined costumes as it has been here.
Not only does Christina Aguilera deliver line after line of the most predictable load of bollocks ive ever witnessed, she also manages to do it without the slightest shred to believability.

The recipe was one for success- naked girls prancing around in feathers and eye lash extensions, the classic gay best friend, the standard "no we're just friends, but will obviously fall in love later" plot line, the struggling small town girl  following a dream (parentless of course), the threat of the nightclub closing to fuel 'Ali´s' desire to be loyal to her 'new family' (aka the other naked girls at the club).

Funniest film this year.

One word: Brilliant.

No, two words: SEE IT.
