T.A.L.C.A

This weekend i spent da bunny season with my lovely Lore and her family in the South in Talca.

I was soopa excited to meet her crazy family (of 30 cousins!) who i'd heard so much about, and who it seems had heard so much about me.

On Thursday after work we went back to Lore's for lunch and hot chococlate with Gilmore Girls in bed followed by an accidental 2 hour nap (the result of our everyday 6.30 wake up call to get to work on time) and then headed off to Talca in Lore's friend's Seba's car at 9pm.
i hate traffic.
We arrived at Lore's at 12.30am and went straight to beddy boo wrapped up in Lore's flannel pink pj's with different coloured circles on them and a silver glittery border. Yeh.....anyone who knows me or has ever seen my underwear or night wear know that's not quite the way i roll.....but i was indeed warm. Perhaps toasty even.

Friday morning Lore and i slept in until we were ready for brekkie which was AMAZING.
c.a.k.e
An amazing GLUTEN FREE soft meringue cake of 4 layers which had alternate layers of cream and raspberry jam. I had 2 pieces.
We then settled down to do some work- me on my stupid essays for Kings, she on her thesis.
After a big lunch and a movie we headed over to her Grandma's house where i met the cousins.

Questions, questions, questions.
They had certainly heard about me and wanted to know everything! One aunty even asked what my personal relationship was to Kate Middleton and seemed almost angry when i said i not only didn't know her but had never even seen her or William on the street.

Her family was soooo welcoming and i seemed to fit right in with all her amazing cousins (the majority of which are girls) who are all insane and loud and jump on eachother and are awesome.

Cake total: 7

Saturday Lore and i woke up late again and then headed off to the asado at her grandma's house (bbq).
Her grandma has this outhouse especially for bbq's with this super profesh, huge built-in grill which was just LAIDEN with meat meat meat.

After the whole family just moped around lying on sofas, dozing or playing games or watching movies until tea time.
Yes, more food.

Tea time was home-made quesillo (a special type of chilean cheese) with ham, avocado, tomatoes, bread and tea and coffee.

After this Lore, Vale (her brothers gf),Jesu (one of her cousins) and i took the youngest cousins, Panki and Mane (both 6) to watch the family "men's football game".
It was hilarious.
Panki and Mane are arch enemy rivals who spend all their time together and whatever one does the other must top and then subsequently push the other over for even doing said thing in the first place. Good times.

Mane y Panki

We then came back to the house for dinner which ws some kind of pasta-y thing and another gluteny thing and soup and salad and cake.
I said no to all of these and i was by this point resembling either a house or maybe a whale? but definately feeling like BOTH.

Cake total: 5

We then headed to Lore's cousins house next door and started pre-drinking for going out. The whole night was sooo funnn and its the first time ive been properly out dancing in AGESSS.

The next day DA EASTER BUNNY CAMEEEEEEEEE!!!

After shit loads of chocolate, a hangover from the night before and general exhaustion from having to meet so many new people and from speaking only spanish alllll weekend i was exhauted and totally ready to go home which ended up taking forever because of traffic and we still had to wake up at 6.30 the next day for work :(

Nonetheless, an amazing weekend of food, fun and food.

Thanks Lore!!
