Basically, i too have always been an anti-blog kinda gal (much like our good friend Laura), however, long hours sitting in front of a screen doing nothing at a lil' known place called Marie Claire has been enough to convince me otherwise.
Literally, until today my greatest excitement each day working at MC was the crazy lunch choices in the canteen- I am seriously going to miss apple puree being EVERYWHERE when i go back home.
However, today i returned to my desk from another successful fromage blanc, apple puree, raspberry coulis and honey concoction to find a casual lil post-it stuck to a huge wad of papers telling me i had to replace a journalist at a press conference for the death penalty at the Palais du Luxembourg in half an hour..........
Right.
WHAT THE HELL!?
What to i do?
Where do i go?
Are they seriously going to let a small 5 year old looking 20 year old in Doc Martins with gold nail polish and a bag with pears on it casually amble on into the Palais du Luxembourg?
I may have got a few odd looks, but yes i was eventually allowed in, despite not being on the list.
After making friends with a government official i braved the vélib solo this time and cycled my way home in the rain..... somehow managing to not fall into a taxi or a man as i did the night before.
Practise makes perfect.
